Stewart Agricultural Ltd. was established in 1988, with James Stewart working on his own repairing and modifying industrial trailers in a workshop on his father’s Aberdeenshire farm. Now, 26 years later, Stewart Trailers has over 40 employees manufacturing agricultural trailers and livestock floats in a purpose-built factory that has been constantly expanding due to increasing demand.
Problem
As Stewart strived to develop the most innovative trailers in the Agri industry, the existing manual control technology was struggling to support the various functions being introduced to their trailers, requiring additional control hardware and increasing the cost of the manufacturing process. The end-user would also face a time consuming process manually operating the various functions of the trailer from a single control point.
Challenge
FSL Electronics were tasked with designing a cost-effective Radio Remote Control System, capable of wirelessly controlling all functions installed on the complex Stewart Agri Trailers.
Solution
FSL replaced the original manual control system with a custom designed Remote Control System, reducing the total cost of the Trailer build and in turn providing the end-user full control of the trailers functions from any vantage point around the trailer, making the operating process safer and more efficient.
